MacromediaTM Flash, audio and video files can be embedded inside the Text and Image element on any SiteKreator page. Each media format provides different options, but they are all added using the same interface:

  • Open the Text and Image editor
  • Click Insert Media icon

  • Click Browse and locate the file on your local disk. Then click Open or double-click on the file name. A message "Uploading file" will appear.

  • When file upload has finished, a placeholder for the media file will appear. The placeholder shows how the movie will be positioned on the page.

  • Update the Text and Image object and Publish the page. You will need to switch to end-user view (by logging out or opening a new browser) in order to play the media file.

Once the media file has been added on the page, you can further set its options by clicking on the placeholder. The media format specific options will appear on the right-hand side.
Here are all the available options:

  • Source field allows you to select a new media file
  • Align dropdown lets you choose the alignment and how the text will wrap around the media object
  • Quality (available for Flash movies only) lets you define the quality of the flash movie. Lower quality will allow playing the flash over slower connection.
  • Width and Height define the size of the media file. If you click on the padlock , this will lock the aspect ratio so changing one of the dimensions will automatically recalculate the other. Keep in mind that if Show Controls is checked (for audio/video files) you need to increase the Height with the size of the controls.
  • Background (flash only) sets background behind the flash.
  • Autoplay (audio/video files) sets the media to play on loading of the page.
  • Show Controls (audio/video files) allows you to display the standard Play/Stop/Forward/etc controls of the media player.
  • Loop Movie (audio/video files) allows for looping the movie infinitely.
